- GBIF Core List of Languages
- A subset of major languages represented by content accessible via the GBIF network.
- ISO 639-2 Language Codes
- A standardized encoding of 464 languages. This encoding scheme is the preferred encoding schema for the GBIF network.
- ISO 639-3 Language Codes
- A comprehensive language encoding standard representing over 7300 languages. This encoding scheme is the fallback schema for language encodings for languages not covered by ISO 639-2.
Taxonomic Ranks
The taxonomic ranks service represents a multilingual thesaurus of taxonomic ranks. It serves to link all multi-lingual representations of taxonomic ranks to an associated entry in the TDWG rank vocabulary.

- The current list of taxon ranks in the TDWG vocabulary.
- List ranks by language
- Select a language from a language list and view/add to the taxon rank listing.
